Program Summary 课程概述:

The Remote TEFL Workshop will consist of 12 hours of synchronous instruction led by UCI DCE teacher trainers. The individual needs and goals of each participant will be evaluated to tailor lectures and activities to suit the needs of the participants. The goal of the program is give participants practical tools, which are immediately applicable to the classroom, as well as to set goals for personal improvement.

英语教学线上研讨会包含12小时实时教学，由UCI DCE (Division of Continuing Education)（加州大学欧文分校发展教育部）教师培训师指导授课。培训师将评估每位学生的个人需求和目标，以调整课程和活动满足学生的需要。课程的目标是为学生提供可以立即应用到课堂上的实用工具，并设定学生个人进步目标。

Program Includes 课程内容:

o Teaching English Skills: Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening

o Lesson Planning & Student Motivation: Making active learning and project-based    lessons to keep students engaged

o Classroom Technology & American Culture: Enhancing language instruction and     student engagement using virtual tools and cultural lessons

o Assessments: How to set goals, monitor progress, and create effective formal and     informal assessments

The about workshops will be supplemented with asynchronous guest lectures and virtual school visits.

Instructor Biographies: 讲师介绍：

Roger Dupuy, M.A., has been teaching for over 20 years at the university level and has extensive experience coordinating and developing curriculum for teacher-training programs. Mr. Dupuy has taught English, English as a foreign language and teacher training in the U.S., and in eight countries around the world under various NGOs and for UCI DCE’s international programs. He has done extensive consulting and language coaching for business and education programs. Mr. Dupuy received the 2003-2004 UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education Distinguished Instructor Award. Mr. Dupuy has been a guest lecturer at several international universities and published a chapter in a book for TESOL Press entitled “Language Teaching Insights from Other Fields”.

Rachel Fernandez, M.A., has over 10 years of experience teaching Spanish at Southern California high schools and at the community college level, which gives her great insight into the K-12 public school system.  In addition, she has many years of experience teaching English as a Second Language in Madrid, Spain, and as a full-time teacher in UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education's ESL and TEFL unit.  Ms. Fernandez is also a skilled teacher-trainer, teaching in DCE’s TEFL Certificate programs.

Rachel Fernandez,文学硕士，有超过10年在南加州高中和社区大学教授西班牙语的教学经验，对K-12公立学校系统有深刻了解。此外，她有多年在西班牙马德里教授英语作为第二语言的教学经验，并在UCI DCE 的ESL和TEFL部门担任全职教师。Ms. Fernandez也是一名经验丰富的教师培训师，在DCE教授TEFL证书课程。

Helen Nam, M.A., holds two master’s degrees, one in TESOL and the other in Philosophy, both from Biola University with her BA, also in Philosophy, from UCLA.   She has experience teaching both on-ground and online English Composition courses at Bethesda University of California. Ms. Nam is a full-time teacher with UCI DCE and excels in teaching ESL and teacher training courses. Ms. Nam is also very involved in professional organizations.  She currently serves on the Board of CATESOL Orange County Chapter including being Coordinator-Elect.   She has vast experience organizing, working at, and presenting at professional conferences.  She has travelled widely and speaks Korean fluently.

Helen Nam,文学硕士，她从Biola University获得两个硕士学位，分别是TESOL和哲学，和文学学士学位，她还从UCLA获得了哲学学士学位。她曾在Bethesda University of California教授线上和线下英语写作课程。Ms. Nam是UCI DCE的全职教师，擅长教授ESL和教师培训课程。Ms. Nam参加了很多专业组织。她目前任职于CATESOL橘郡分会董事会，包括担任选举协调员。她有丰富的组织、工作和在专业会议上发言的经验。她去过很多地方，能说一口流利的韩语。

Marla Yoshida, M.A., is a TEFL instructor and academic coordinator at the University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education (UCI DCE). She has taught English as a second language for 28 plus years in the U.S. and Japan and has done teacher training in the US, Japan, and Korea. She has taught the Teaching Pronunciation Skills class in UCI DCE’s TEFL certificate program for more than a decade, in addition to similar classes for groups of teachers from Japan, Korea, Brazil, and Chile, and has given many presentations on teaching pronunciation at state and national conferences. She is the author of Beyond Repeat After Me: Teaching Pronunciation to English Learners.

Marla Yoshida,文学硕士，是UCI DCE的TEFL教师和学术协调员。她在美国和日本从事英语作为第二语言的教学工作超过28年，并在美国、日本和韩国做过教师培训。她在UCI DCE 的TEFL证书课程教授发音技巧超过十年，此外还为来自日本、韩国、巴西和智利的教师群体提供类似的课程，并在州和国家会议上做过许多关于发音教学的演讲。她是Beyond Repeat After Me: Teaching Pronunciation to English Learners的作者。

Emily Wong, M.A., has been teaching ESL/EFL for nearly 10 years. She is a full-time teacher in UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education's ESL and TEFL unit and excels in any ESL or teacher-training class she is teaching.  In addition, Ms. Wong is Involved in a myriad of professional development projects, most notably a teacher-training podcast that she is currently developing. Ms. Wong received her M.A. in TESOL from Teachers College in New York City. She has lived in Hong Kong and previously taught in Japan. In addition to English, she speaks Cantonese, Japanese, and Mandarin.

Emily Wong,文学硕士，从事ESL/EFL教学近10年。她是UCI DCE的ESL和TEFL部门的全职教师，在其任教的ESL或教师培训课程中表现出色。此外，Ms. Wong参与了许多专业开发项目，其中最引人注目的是她目前正在开发的一个教师培训播客。Ms. Wong在纽约的Teachers College获得TESOL硕士学位。她曾在香港生活，并曾在日本任教。除了英语，她还会说广东话、日语和普通话。

1. 请感兴趣的学生填写《湖北大学短期线上项目备案表》，班主任/导师签字及学院签字、盖章后携身份证明交至行政楼713室报名备案。校内报名截止日期为2021年12月15日

2. 联系加州大学欧文分校项目负责人报名，提交申请材料

3. 经资格审核后，由加州大学欧文分校最终确定录取人选。
